Process
During our skill week, we were given roughly four days to create an installation using lights and color. As a group of three, we knew from early on that we wanted to try and create something that we thought to be unique.
During our brainstorming phase I initially pitched the idea of using two beamers to project a game world into the corner of the room with a cube in the middle. Through the creative inputs from the others we then improved upon the initial idea by hanging a single beamer from the ceiling which allowed for three out of six sides to be lit at once. Once the positions of the cube and the beamer were fixed, we then created a template file which each of us then used to make their own 30 second animation.
Result
The project resulted in an installation which felt quite immersive, allowing visitors to even step inside the projected area. I highly doubt that this installation would have become this good if I had to do it all by myself and I really appreciated our combined effort to realize this project.
