Soft Work is an installation designed by Studio Absurda which keeps track of time spent by visitors of an exhibition and visualizes it in comparison to the work hours spent by the artists to create the exhibited artworks.
The installation works by having visitors scan a barcode on a card they receive when entering the exhibition. Their time spent in the exhibition is then measured once the same card is scanned again when they leave.
My job was to set up the hardware, consisting of a Raspberry Pi, a barcode scanner and a screen, and programming the software and visuals, which were created with Processing.
